Adam Fergeson's Producer Podcast on Butch Vig
I grew up in the 90's and idolized bands like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and Foo Fighters. The man behind many of these great albums is Butch Vig. Butch's clean production style while keeping the sound true to the individual bands that he worked with is what I think makes him so great. I can remember being young and thinking, "How did that guitar sound the way it does," or "Wow, there is something about those vocals that really stands out to me." I did not realize how influential Vig had been on my personal taste in music until I researched him later in life. Being able to make records like that has been a goal of mine ever since, so I can truly say that Butch Vig has been a huge inspiration for me. The sound of 90's rock is in my opinion the very best, and Butch Vig is highly responsible for this.
